That's right people, today marks an entire year of weekly (well weekly-ish ... ) blog posts from this guy. *double thumb points to self* It's crazy to me that I've been doing this for that long. It seem like just yesterday I began to pour my thought, tips, tricks, and gifs out into the vastness of the internet, but alas it's been 365 days of hard work. Many a late night, countless hours of editing, gif making, file sizing, speed edit exporting, writing, re-writing, and re-re-writing all to meet deadlines that ... I make for myself. I love it all.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that the best thing you could possibly do in your life, no matter what it is that you want to do with your time, is to surround yourself with amazing, talented, encouraging people. Also, if at all possible, get married to one. My wife Sara started her illustrated food blog "Cake Over Steak" about half a year before I did, and any of you that currently enjoy tuning in for my blog posts can thank her. I never would have gotten this thing started if I wasn't living with a crazy food blogger. Sara was just so passionate about her blog, having so much fun doing it, and all the while receiving delightful feedback and making splendid new blog friends. (Seriously people - food bloggers are quite possibly the most genuinely nice group of humans on the planet. I'm pleased to have locked one down!)
"Hmm," I thought to myself, "I've always enjoyed teaching, delightful feedback, splendid new friends, and have so many thoughts I'd love to share; who's to stop me from starting a blog of my own?" Let's be honest, the only reason I thought these thoughts was because Sara was constantly asking "Soooooo, when are you starting your blog?" June 16th 2014 I plopped my first post up and I've been a "blogger" ever since! So yeah, THANKS SARA YOU'RE THE BEST!!
Now, can we just talk about how magical this new picture of her is? I crack myself up. In the wise words of my father, "I love spending time with me." Hahah but I also love spending time with Sara. This little gem was taken during our studio wedding photo shoot. Since I had lighting set up and Sara's epic hair present, I figured that before she got into hair and makeup for the wedding shoot that I might as well grab a bunch of "hair flips" just to have on hand. You never know when you might want to add some extra flowing locks to a photo later on down the road. It's always a great idea to stock up on pieces and parts like this that might come in handy one day. Anyway, this picture just cracked me up, her face was so priceless and that tower of hair was perfection. I actually have the unedited photo on my phone to come up when she calls me. (It's soon to be replaced with this edited one. *Mmwwaaahahahaha*)
For all of you incredibly kind people who keep coming back again and again to read all the silly things I have to say, I just want to sincerely thank you. Yes, I know in my first post I said I was doing this for me (and I am), but who am I kidding if I think it wouldn't be discouraging if no one ever showed up. So thank you all so very much for all your wonderful comments, emails, thoughts, and words of encouragement. They truly keep me going, motivated, and inspired to create! If you are reading this right now, then you are officially one of my favorite people. Way to go you. You're awesome. *High five followed by a chest bump followed by running into the sunset cackling like a crazy person*
Love,
Robert
